Dear Church Family,
I know the stress and anxiety that the Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic is causing around the world, including right here at home. After discussion with the church leadership and following the guidance of the Vermont Conference, the best course of action at this time is to do what the experts suggest and suspend all activities at The First Congregational Church of Hartland through the end of March. This includes worship services on March 22 & 29; fellowship activities, bible study, meetings, office hours and confirmation class.
Please check your email, the Church Facebook page and the Church Website for updates as we figure out how to BE THE CHURCH while utilizing technology.
Please also note that I will be self –quarantining because we caring for Michael at home rather than his going to rehab. Which means no visitors to our home and I will not be out and about. However, you can call me at home if you are in need of food, are feeling isolated or need anything else: 436-2841. The town of Hartland is working hard to set up support systems for community members and I am sure that other towns are doing the same.
Let us BE THE CHURCH in this time of crisis and take care of one another in the ways that we can – reach out, pick up the phone and call those who are isolated, be compassionate, care for your neighbor, if you can run errands – offer to run errands for those who are vulnerable and homebound. Love takes many forms. And never, never, underestimate the power of prayer.
The Reflections from Sunday Worship are posted on the church website below this announcement.
Let your FAITH be greater than your fear. May God bless you and keep you all safe and healthy during this time. Know that you are loved by God and that you are not alone.
God Bless – Lucia
